The Northfield Buddhist Meditation Center offers its programming on a system of Dana. The Buddhist tradition of Dana (Pali for “generosity”) asks that people look into their hearts and determine for themselves how they want to contribute to their community.
We have never required a certain financial contribution to participate in our activities, and have left that decision to participants, according to their own sense of generosity and means. The Center depends on this generosity to support the teachings and our place of refuge, which we are so fortunate to have. The Center has non-profit status with the State of Minnesota and all contributions are tax deductible.
Dana baskets are available at the center for cash contributions. You may also contribute online. In addition to financial support, there are other opportunities to participate in this practice of generosity by helping to clean the Center, providing refreshments for events, making posters, and more.
