Retreat/workshop with Tom Adducci

This workshop will be an in depth exploration of shamatha (mindfulness and awareness practice), and of the Shambhala Buddhist view, as presented in Sakyong Mipham’s book, “Turning the Mind into an Ally”. The day will include meditation instruction, silent meditation, talks, and discussion.

This will be an excellent introduction for newcomers, as well as a provocative and deepening opportunity for experienced mediators.

Lunch will be provided for those attending the retreat.

Please register for the retreat by using the contact form, so that we can plan accordingly for the workshop and lunch.

We offer all NBMC programs in the Buddhist spirit of generosity, and everyone encouraged to attend.  For this day-long event there is a suggested donation of $30 – 60, and those attending are encouraged to give, more or less, as they are able.

Tom Adducci has been a student and practitioner of Buddhism for over 30
years. He studied with his primary teacher, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, the
founder of Shambhala, from 1974 until Trungpa’s death in 1987. Tom is a
founding member of the Shambhala Meditation Center of Minneapolis, which is one of over 170 Shambhala centers and groups worldwide. He has served there in many capacities, including most recently as director of practice and
teaching. Tom is a trained meditation instructor and has been teaching in
the Shambhala tradition for over 20 years.
