Hatha Yoga for Meditators
1 1/2 hour workshop
1/2 hour meditation
Yoga teacher Gracia Gimse McKinley is offering a workshop to teach meditators a series of hatha yoga poses that will improve and support a seated practice.
If your sitting practice is causing your feet to fall asleep, your knees to ache, or your lower back to feel sore, come to this workshop with Gracia to learn how to help your body meditate more comfortably. These simple poses strengthen and tone the muscles in your legs, hips, and back in a way that gradually softens the physical resistance your body may have to seated meditation. A physical yoga practice helps to clear and focus the mind for meditation. It lets off some steam and opens energy channels to help quiet the mind. No prior hatha yoga experience necessary, come as you are. All are welcome.
Hatha yoga and meditation have been a part of Gracia’s life for 20 years. She is certified to teach yoga at the 200 hour level through the temple of Kriya Yoga in Chicago. She has also completed two years of yoga theory and meditation study in Kriya Yoga. She is currently studying at the 500 hour level at Yoga North in Duluth.
