Basic goodness is our birthright as human beings. Through meditation we can discover that simple sense of being there, awake, before anything happens. We can learn to discover and rest in that natural state and begin to develop a feeling of warmth and friendliness toward ourselves, a friendliness that does not depend on being rich or successful or winning over others
Basic goodness, sometimes also referred to as “Buddha Nature,” is a foundational concept within the Mahayana and Vajrayana traditions of Buddhism. Tom will explore some practical aspects of this concept and it uniquely significant place within the Shambhala tradition.
