Refuge and Resilience: Dharma Talk with Patrice Clark Koelsch

Sunday, December 7 at 9:45 a.m.

In a world filled with violence, economic hardship, and uncertainty, sources of comfort and optimism seem few and far between. In this talk, Patrice Koelsch will explore how mindfulness offers a refuge in which we can develop the resilience to work with circumstances beyond our control.

A time of silent meditation will begin at 9:00 a.m., with an orientation for newcomers at 8:30 a.m. After the talk there will be tea and conversation. Everyone is welcome at all NBMC events.

Formally trained with a Ph.D. in Philosophy, Patrice Koelsch is a writer and educator who has been sitting at Common Ground Meditation Center since 1995. She has been facilitating meditation groups in correctional facilities since 1999. Patrice has also practiced meditation at monasteries in Thailand and Burma. In 2006 she completed a year-long Buddhist Chaplaincy Training Program at the Sati Center for Buddhist Studies, and has been certified to teach through Spirit Rock’s Community Dharma Leaders Program.
