What is the mind? What is its function and its importance? What does Buddhism have to say about the mind? And how can we come to know the mind and tame it? The Buddha taught that a mind, once tamed, can be purified, and a purified mind is what will lead us to final liberation.
Bhikkhuni Satima was born in Sri Lanka and migrated to the United States in 1973 as a Montessori teacher. Deciding to lead a spiritual life, she had a 1st ordination in May 2000. In April, she went back to Sri Lanka to get the Bhikkhuni Ordination at the Golden Temple in Dambulla. As a resident bhikkhuni at the Minnesota Buddhist Vihara, she helps in the Children’s Dhamma Program, Buddhist & Pali College of USA and in the Meditation Program.
